Bio
David Haugen
was introduced to the work of Sanford Meisner in 1987 as a
student of William Esper. The work opened his eyes and took
away the mystery of acting. He continued his studies with
Mr. Esper at Rutgers University in the Professional Actors
Training Program earning his MFA.
As a teacher,
David was trained by Maggie Flanigan and taught at the
Maggie Flanigan Studio in New York. It is from Ms. Flanigan
that David gained both his love for teaching and the clarity
with which to share it.
William Esper
and Maggie Flanigan received the top honors for Best Acting
Teachers in New York by Backstage 2006 Readership Poll.
David has
recently relocated to Los Angeles with the goal of
establishing a center for dedicated actors seeking to
develop their craft.
As an actor,
David has worked in film; Vision Quest; The Curious
Profession of Jonathan Hoag, television: Law & Order;
Law & Order SVU, Ed, and off-Broadway; Romeo & Juliet.
He has worked extensively around the country with such
theaters as: Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, Repertory
Theater of St. Louis, Great Lakes Theatre Festival, New
Jersey and Orlando Shakespeare Festivals, The Dorset Theatre
Company and The Peterborough Players.
