Curriculum
First Year
The emphasis
of the first year of Sanford Meisner’s work is to develop a
truthful instrument. Through exercises and scenes, beginning
with the repetition exercise, the student will learn the
fundamentals of acting. At the end of the first year these
fundamentals will be ingrained, enabling the student to work
in an open, spontaneous and truthful reality.
Second Year
The emphasis
of the second year is on character work. Through challenging
scenes and exercises, students will learn how to bring
themselves organically to the character, giving them the
necessary tools to work in the professional world.
Cold Reading
This class is
highly recommended for all students. In an intimate setting,
only four students per class, the students will learn how to
read like actors, discover what is actable in the
material and make acting choices.
Six-Week Intensive
This class
serves as an introduction to the Sanford Meisner Technique.
Over six weeks, meeting three times per week students will
be taken through the Meisner process from the introduction
of the repetition through the first scene.
Scene Study
Students not
enrolled in the Meisner curriculum can work on specific
challenges regarding scene work.
Private Coaching
Private Coaching
Available for specific auditions or issues the student is working
on.
Workshops
Throughout
the year workshops will be held on dialects, actions
and Shakespeare.
